ANXIETY SUCKS, AM I RIGHT?

Anxiety looks and feels different to everyone. It can be triggered by normal activities, social situations, or by phobias. When treating anxiety, I would look at the severity of the symptoms, the different areas of your life that are impacted, and the precipitating events or triggers. From there, we are able to develop an appropriate and individualized treatment plan to manage these symptoms.

Some examples of settings or circumstances that may trigger anxiety:

Presenting a project at school

Starting a new job

Intimacy with a new partner

Being in closed spaces or the perception of being trapped

Fear of dying or getting severely ill

Getting fired

Being left by a loved one

Helpful tips:

Reconnect to your spiritual beliefs through prayer or meditation

Attend a local support group

Watch tv or listen to music for a positive distraction

Talk to someone you trust
